Home Again

We're back home now from our vacation and sad it all had to end. This is a picture of Lindsay and I taken at her house when we returned from Yellowstone. I wish I could have spent more time with her. We'll have to plan another trip to solely spend time with the Woolley Family.

Almost Back from Vacation

Well, our trip to Yellowstone is over and we are currently in Utah at Lindsay's house until tomorrow. We had a really good time and saw many amazing things and it was nice to see all of Vinnie's family who we don't get to see very often. Yellowstone was beautiful and the animals were not afraid to get right up next to you. I thought we would see more bears but we only saw one. On our way back to Utah we drove through the Grand Tetons and I would have to say that the views were more beautiful than Yellowstone. Less visible wildlife but was a lot greener.

Bailey and Todd's vacation doesn't stop here. They will be left here in Utah while Vinnie, Lola, and I travel back home. Lola was supposed to go with them but decided she wanted to go back home. Natalie and Jonh will arrive tomorrow to take them to California for a few weeks. They are so excited!!! We will miss them but we know they will have a fun filled time.

Yellowstone Trip

Camping Trip Countdown

This is the week! Vinnie has been wanting to visit Yellowstone for the past couple of years after watching so many documentaries and we are finally making it happen. This week has been very busy and dedicated to preparing for this trip. We bought a new tent and did a dry run yesterday of putting it up and taking it down. Vinnie informed me it was his first time ever putting up a tent. Thank goodness for girls camp where we had to set up our own tents. It all came back to me!

I also had to go shopping for long pants for the girls since I already chopped their old ones into shorts for the summer. It's hard to believe it will only reach the low 70s during the day and drop down to the 30s at night in Yellowstone when we've been 113-115 here in AZ. We are looking forward to the cooler days, but I don't know about those cold nights. Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers!

We are leaving on Friday and plan to be back on the 26th, so come back then to see photos of our trip. Vinnie got a new lens for Father's Day and is itching to use it!

What Kind of Flower are You?

I am a Daffodil What Flower Are You?

So I saw this on Stacie's blog and thought I would find out what kind of flower I am. Here is what it read:

You have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for the party. You don't need too much attention from the host once you get there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard.

Well, I found it to be pretty true. I am always about 15 to 30 minutes early to all appointments and I definitely don't need any attention. I'm quite happy sitting by myself just watching what is going on around me. As for the part about making myself seen and heard, I don''t quite see that about myself, but Vinnie might think different.

Foundation

The foundation for the house is done! We were actually able to pull into our driveway and what will be the garage. It's funny how small the house seems walking on the foundation at this stage. It will feel bigger once the framing is done, which will be soon.

We Survived Day Camp

Well, I haven't written in a few days because Todd and I have been at Cub Scout Day Camp the past three days and I'm happy to say we're alive and unburned! Our sunscreen did its job and with one application if you could believe it. The boys had a blast and I hate to admit that I didn't have a horrible time either.

Todd learned how to work and shoot a BB gun and also did archery. The days were filled with fun activities including water balloon fights and spray bottle wars. We were kept wet all day by sprinklers and water hoses which made the Arizona heat bearable. We stayed hydrated inside and out! Even though we had so much fun I missed the girls and I'm glad to be done with camp.

Popsicles at the Park

The kids love to play at the park with their little friend Layla. Bailey just loves her! It's starting to get really hot here so thank goodness there is a tarp covering the park equipment. During the heat the kids can only stand to be outside for maybe a half hour. The Popsicles sure did help! Thanks Angelica for the treat!!!

Old Photos

These pictures were taken while traveling to visit Lindsay's family in Washington, UT. It's about a seven and a half hour trip for us, but doesn't seem that long because of all the impressive sights.

I was uploading some pictures I took yesterday and I started to look through our old photos. Some of them were just to good to not post on our blog, so here they are.

These picture were taken during a typical August dust storm in Arizona. When these storms happen you can see the dust rolling in toward you from a distance. Not a good time to be outside unless you like to eat and breathe dirt.

Progress on House

Today the kids and I went to the house to see what had been done during the week. We look forward to the weekends because there is bound to be something new done to the property. The plumbing is finished and the dirt is back into place. I was told by Stephanie (the lady in the office) the slab will be poured on Monday. It's almost framing time!

Stephanie also told me about the nice neighbors that will be moving in around the same time we do. She's not just saying that either because she also lives in that neighborhood and I consider her a reliable friend. It's nice to know we will have good people around us. We already met one of our neighbors and he was not shy about introducing himself while we were at our lot late one night. Really nice guy!

Lola's Story

Lola loves to hear the story about the day she was born. When pregnant with Lola I was scheduled to have a C-section on Friday, January 10, 2003. On Wednesday, January 8th, I was on my way to my last doctors appointment and was in a car accident. Luckily no one else was in the car. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The accident put me into labor and thus Lola was born on January 8th. Lola always likes to bring up how she was in a car accident with mom. I guess it's something special to her that we share together.

Today I overheard Lola having a conversation with her My Little Ponies. She was explaining to them "You're born, you live, and you die. You get married, get in a car accident, and have a baby." I think it's funny how she thinks getting in a car wreck is part of the process of having a child. As for the born, live, and die part she said she learned it from Todd. Todd informed me he heard it from the movie Click.

Last Day of School

Here are pictures of Bailey and Todd this morning before school. Today is their last day. Our plans for summer vacation include taking a trip to Yellowstone at the end of June. Then the children will spend a few weeks with my parents in California before starting school on July 28th. Vinnie and I will be kid free for those weeks. What will we do with ourselves!!!

You can see our church building behind our lot. We will be able to walk to church.

The footers for our house are done and they have dug out where the plumbing will go. After all the pipes go in they will pour the foundation. Framing should start in the next couple of weeks and should only take three days. We will be able to move into our new home in about 4 to 5 months. We can't wait!!!

Gone Fishing

Our family decided to try fishing for the first time. We didn't catch any fish, but we still had a good time. We do plan on another fishing trip soon, so maybe we'll have better luck next time. I was amazed that the girls were not afraid of touching the worms and cutting them to put them on their hooks. Bailey actually liked playing with them. Lola had fun feeding the ducks that swam by and Todd had fun just being his talkative self. He always has so much to say.

The kids love to jump on the trampoline and Vinnie loves to get pictures of them in action.
